LeToya Luckett is prepping a new single and video from her upcoming sophomore album, Lady Love (out on Capitol Records this Summer).
“She Ain’t Got Sh*t On Me” (the self-proclaimed ladies anthem of the Summer), is the follow up to her first single from the new album, “Not Anymore”. Here is what Letoya said about the 2nd single:
“In the song, I’m not saying I’m perfect, but my man shouldn’t bring another girl home. The song’s not really about whether this girl he’s cheating on with me has a fat ass or anything! It’s more about the quality that I bring; how much I care for him. It’s really a song for every middle-class woman. It’s speaking for them.”
Also make sure to look out for the singer in the upcoming movie Preacher’s Kid, due in theaters this fall.
D.WOODS PREPS NEW VIDEO
Former Danity Kane and Making the Band star D.Woods is moving forward with her solo career. Woods, also known for her stint with ‘Girls Club,’ will reportedly shoot the video for her first single “On My Side” in Los Angeles next month.
“On My Side” follows Woods’ spring 2009 mixtape “Independence Day” which we posted exclusively earlier this year.
Speaking with MTV during the season three finale of Making the Band, Woods offered: “I’ve been doing a lot of studio work for myself and writing for other artists and projects.”
KEKE PALMER WORKING ON NEW ALBUM
Actress/singer Keke Palmer (Akeelah and the Bee, The Longshots, True Jackson VP) is currently working on her sophomore album.
After leaving her former label Atlantic for lack of promotion of her first album ‘So Uncool’, Keke has a contract in the works and will make a big announcement of her new label this summer.
Her new song is entitled, “Edit (You Out of My Life)”, which she co-wrote. In the meantime, Keke is starring in the hit T.V. show “True Jackson, VP” on Nickelodeon. She also co-wrote and sings the theme song.
