HOT OR NOT: ELLE VARNER – “REFILL”

MBK Entertainment’s Elle Varner has another song moving around the web streets. The Pop Wansell-produced song is called “Refill” and features her raspy voice singing, “Can I get a refill?” over a looped violin track.

EVENTS: 2011 BLACK GIRLS ROCK! AWARDS

On Saturday, October 15th, many notable black celebrity women came out to support the 2011 Black Girls Rock Awards! The star-studded event was held at the famed Paradise Theater in Bronx, New York. Co-hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King, artists like Mary J. Blige, Mary Mary, Melanie Fiona, Estelle and Elle Varner stepped on stage to perform their latest singles and fan favorites.

Shirley Caesar, Taraji P. Henson, Angela Davis, Malika Saada Saar & Tatyana Ali and others were 2011 honorees. Check out the gallery below and see who else popped up to show support for the annual ceremony.

Black Girls Rock!, Inc. is a nonprofit organization started by model/DJ/philantrophist Beverly Bonds (top left), that is dedicated to building the self-esteem and self-worth of young women of color by changing their outlook on life, broadening their horizons, exposing them to creative and performing arts, and helping them to empower themselves.

The Black Girls Rock! awards show will air on Sunday, November 6 at 8/7pm CST on BET.

MUSIC VIDEO: ELLE VARNER FEAT. J. COLE – “ONLY WANNA GIVE IT TO YOU”

MBK/J. Records recording artist Elle Varner releases her debut video for her first single, “Only Wanna Give It To You,” featuring Roc Nation signee, J. Cole.

The track is lifted from Varner’s presently untitled debut studio album, which is said to hit stores at the top of next year.
