While performing “Even Angels” in Chicago on Tuesday night (February 14), singer Fantasia Barrino shared her personal point of view on the struggles of being a celebrity and spoke about how she understands what artists like Whitney Houston go through when having to resort to other things to get away:
I understand what those artists go through. When they become superstars, they lose their family, they lose their old friends. Anybody’s that feels that they should be doing this and doing that and they just want to be regular people. So what happens is they start turning to other things. I promise you. Just to get away from folk.
Whitney Houston, I love her. She touched me in a special way. And to this day I still can’t believe that she is gone. But we must pray for her mother, we must pray for her – her mother lost her baby, when we don’t really know the situation.

Wendy Williams is doing the most! On a recent episode of The Wendy Williams Show, the talk show host went in on singer Fantasia for reportedly asking for financial help from her baby daddy Antwuan Cook. Wendy says she is “talking from the heart” and giving tough love.
However, I just find it odd that she has so much to say when she has her own issues in her own household. Remember the drama with Wendy’s husband from a few years back. hmmm. Anyway, check the video out above.
Fantasia Barrino called into the The Wendy Williams Show this morning to clear up the rumors about Mahalia Jackson’s estate no longer wanting her to play the legendary gospel singer because of her being pregnant by a married man. The 27-year-old bed-rest mother-to-be informed Wendy that no official contracts were signed and that she almost went into labor when she heard the rumor:
I haven’t heard anything from the producers. They called us back in January and said the investors had backed out. so they were waiting on investors you know to find investors to kind of put money into the movie. I was a little disappointed when they called and said that. But I still listened to a lot of her music and still gaining the weight because I was believing that God was going to bring it back around and were going to be able to do this movie, because a lot of people need to know about this great woman. And we never heard anything from them.
After Barrino explained the situation with the biopic, Wendy went in and asked the singer if she’s still seeing Antwaun Cook, even though he’s still married…Fantasia laughed it off and eventually dodged the question altogether saying, “I’m really not focusing on that today” and that she’ll come and answer Wendy’s question after the baby is born.
