Following President Barack Obama’s recent announcement regarding his support of same-sex marriage, many religious leaders across the nation have been conflicted and divided about their thoughts and support of the president’s bold statement (VIEW VIDEO).
Of the many celebrities in support of Obama, business mogul Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter recently sat down with CNN and shared his support of Obama’s announcement and thoughts of whether the president’s announcement will effect his voting:
ON THE BANNING OF SAME-SEX MARRIAGE:
“I’ve always thought it as something that was still holding the country back. What people do in their own homes is their business and you can choose to love whoever you love. That’s their business. [It] is no different than discriminating against blacks. It’s discrimination plain and simple.”
ON WHETHER HE THINKS IT’S GOING TO COST HIM VOTES:
“I think it’s the right thing to do. So whether it cost him votes or not, Again, it’s really not about votes. It’s about people. So whether it cost him votes or not, I think it’s the right thing to do as a human being.”

The book, ‘The Thriving Child: Parenting Successfully through Allergies, Asthma and Other Common Challenges’ shows the struggles Mrs. Reid had to go through finding out one of her children (both pictured below) had asthma.
