Actress Kerry Washington is featured in the February 2012 issue of DETAILS Magazine. The 34 year-old spoke about her upcoming movie and T.V. projects, as well as where she got her chameleon acting abilities from.
ON FANS KNOWING HER FROM CERTAIN MOVIES:
If it’s a teenage guy? “You’re the blind girl from Fantastic Four!” A European? “It’s always The Last King of Scotland.” A lesbian? “She Hate Me!”—for its Sapphic sex scene, of course. The one performance that everyone recognizes her for is the long-suffering wife in Ray. “That’s the wild card in Uno,” she says with a laugh.
ON HER CHARACTER IN THE UPCOMING T.V. SERIES, SCANDAL:
As a black woman holding her own in the halls of power, the character (based on the PR guru who advised Monica Lewinsky, Michael Vick, and Wesley Snipes) offers an unexpected look at race and gender in the 21st century. “I’m really fascinated with how people become who they are,” says Washington…

Another year has quickly come and gone, and with it a slew of fashionably minded celebrity fashionistas have shared some of their best looks with us over the course of the last twelve months. Eddie Murphy will be starring in another comedic next year. In the new film, A Thousand Words, Murphy plays a literary agent by the name of Jack McCall, who is prone to telling lies to get what he wants. One day, he tells a lie to a spiritual leader named Dr. Sinja (Cliff Curtis) about getting a book published. As a result, the New Age guru puts a Bondi tree on his property, to teach McCall a valuable lesson about the consequences of every word he speaks. Each time he talks, a leaf falls off of the tree. When all the leaves are gone, McCall and the tree die.
It kind of reminds me of the movie Liar, Liar and Doctor Dolittle, but with a twist. Kerry Washington plays Murphy’s wife and John Witherspoon plays a blind man trying to cross the street. This movie is said to hit theaters in March 23, 2012. In the mean time, check out the trailer below! Continue
