TV NEWS: UPDATE ON MICHAEL EALY’S NEW USA SERIES / GABRIELLE UNION LANDS ROLE ON NEW BET SHOW

Earlier this year we mentioned that Michael Ealy landed a new role in an upcoming TV series. According to reports, he’ll be playing the lead role of Detective Travis Marks in the new USA drama series, Common Law. The 12-episode show will finally kick off in the late Spring/early Summer.

Starring Michael Ealy and Warren Kole as a pair of dysfunctional Los Angeles police detectives put into couples therapy, USA had originally slotted Common Law to launch Thursday, Jan. 26 but in December, opted to move the hourlong back for a summer debut. [Source]

The series is co-created by Cormac and Marianne Wibberley and executive produced by Jon Turtletaub and Craig Sweeny. Common Law is scheduled to premiere on Friday, May 11 at 10 p.m EST on USA. Peep the trailer below if you missed it.

EVENT PICS: MICHAEL EALY ATTENDS WINTER TCA + PROMO VID FROM HIS NEW TV SERIES

Heart throb Micheal Ealy attended the NBC Universal 2012 Winter TCA Press Tour earlier this weekend in California.

The 38 year old has a few upcoming movies, including Underworld: Awakening & Think Like A Man. Not to mention, a new series Common Law on the USA network. He spoke with BET late last week about all his new projects View videos below.

The official trailer for the Steve Harvey film, Think Like A Man is finally out! In the clip, we get a glimpse of the star-studded cast, including a sneak peek of a scene with Meagan Good and Chris Brown.

As many of you know, this movie is based off Harvey’s New York Best-Seller Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man and stars practically every black actor/actress/celebrity in the game right now! EVENTS: KEVIN HART’S ‘LAUGH AT MY PAIN’ L.A. PREMIERE

It feels like all of black hollywood was at the movie premiere for Kevin Hart’s new stand-up comedy film Laugh at My Pain. The star-studded event was held at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles, California. Who stopped through to show Kevin Hart some support, you ask? Oh, just Gabriel Union, Michael Ealy, Meagan Good, LisaRaye, Marlon Wayans, Eva Marcille, Eddie Murphy, Shaunie O’ Neal, Tichina Arnold, Tamar Braxton-Herbert and Vincent Herbert, Tami Roman, Tisha Campbell, Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose! LOL There were other people spotted there, too. Peep the gallery to see who showed up.

Kevin Hart’s Laugh at My Pain hits 100 AMC Theatres on Friday, September 9th. In the film, fans can catch original, never-before-seen Raw and Uncut backstage footage, and travel back to Philly with Kevin Hart where he began his journey to become one of the funniest comedians of all time. Congrats to Kevin!
