VIDEO/NEWS: 9-YEAR-OLD GIRL LOSES LEG SAVING HER LITTLE SISTER’S LIFE

Check out footage from NBC’s The Today Show featuring the touching story of 9-year-old Anaiah Rucker who pushed her 5-year-old sister, Camry, out of the way as an oncoming truck came toward them on their way to the bus stop last month in Madison, Georgia.

Anaiah suffered a broken neck, lost a kidney and damaged her spleen. Her left leg was shattered so badly that it had to be amputated. But she did what she had to do to save her sister’s life by pushing her out of the way. She told NBC:

“She was too young to get hit like this. If she got hit … she would be probably gone forever.”

She went on to say she loved her little sister more than anything and that although she feels like a hero she doesn’t really deserve to be one. “I just saved her life,” she said.

Their mother, Andrea Taylor, who witnessed the whole event as she watched the girls go to the bus stop, said she wasn’t surprised by Anaiah’s actions: “She has a really, really big heart,” she said. Upon Anaiah’s release from the hospital, the community held a barbecue last week to help raise money for her medical bills and make the necessary renovations to make their home wheelchair accessible. The United Bank in Madison has also established a fund in Anaiah’s name to assist the family. Click here for contact info on how to make a donation.

NEWS/STORIES: AJ JEWELL’S DAUGHTER SHOT, LISTED IN CRITICAL CONDITION

Last Saturday at around 10pm, shots rang as someone opened fire on a car of 4 to 5 girls, as it pursued the vehicle down Old National Highway in Stone Mountain, Georgia. One of the passengers, Asheley Jewell received a life-threatening gun shot wound to the back of the head.

After it was discovered that Jewell was hit, her girlfriends jumped out of the vehicle in hopes to seek help from nearby homes. The 15 year-old high school sophomore is currently listed in critical condition at Atlanta’s Grady Memorial Hospital.

Detective Melissa Parker of the Fulton County Police disclosed that their investigation leads them to believe that ‘there’s a good possibility that it was road rage.’ They also ‘believe that shots were being fired along the path that they were [being] chased.’

Jewell’s cousin, Ebony Phillips issued the following statement about the impact of this tragic incident as well as her family’s hope of someone stepping forward:

“We deserve to know what happened to her. Why is it that you can’t ride down the street, mind your business, go get food, without getting shot? We believe that God is going to work a miracle in this case. We have to believe that there are decent people out there who care enough about a mother’s pain to step up and do the right thing. That’s all we want that’s all any mother would want.

Asheley, is the daughter of A.J. Jewell (former fiance to “Real Housewives of Atlanta” cast member, Kandi Burruss) and he passed away as a result of the injuries he sustained from a fight outside of an Atlanta night club back in 2009.

If you have any vital info about the shooter, please do not hesitate to contact the Fulton County Police.

NEWS: LAPD DEFENDS REGGIE DOUCET’S MURDERERS + A FRIEND SPEAKS OUT

Almost two weeks ago, unarmed 25-year-old Reggie Doucet was shot and killed by police officers following his alleged attempt to take one of their guns.

The officers claim they were “fighting for their lives” while struggling with Doucet, who repeatedly punched them wearing nothing but boxers. Police Union President Paul M. Weber said that while Doucet was naked and not holding a weapon doesn’t mean he didn’t pose a threat: “In this case, naked or not, when Mr. Doucet tried to take an officer’s gun away from him, he set in motion the chain of events that sadly led to his death. An officer who loses his gun to a suspect loses his life.”

A close friend of Doucet, however, paints a very different picture of the former quarterback and model.

Kacie Alexis knew Doucet and said, “The media has been portraying Reggie as a ‘violent, dangerous, hostile and troublesome man”. I would just like to start by saying that he was none of the above, as far from any of these descriptions as you could imagine.”

Reggie was the funniest man I knew, he could make anyone smile no matter what they were going through, and he always made everyone feel comfortable, safe and appreciated. His SMILE was the best I’ve ever seen. It was gorgeous and could light up a room with a single tooth. He was extremely motivated and focused. He only wanted to have a good time and make sure everyone else was doing the same as well. Reggie was the life of the party and the root of the tree. His energy was like no other and his POSITIVE, CARING, HAPPY, JOYFUL presence was felt everywhere he went. As far as the YouTube videos go, he was joking, comedy, fun. Those who weren’t blessed with knowing him please do not take them seriously. Reggie was an amazing and positive person and, regardless of all that, did not deserve to be killed. There is protocol and order that should have and was not taken, and NO ONE should be treated like this. We have to put a stop to the actions of the LAPD now before more innocent people are wrongfully murdered.
