A slew of celebrities came out for the 33rd Annual United Negro College Fund’s Evening of Stars fundraising ceremony in Pasadena, California (August 14). The annual event celebrates current and future college students who have attended or with to pursue a bachelors degree at a historically black college. Erykah Badu, Musiq Soulchild and Jill Scott were among to hit the stage with a performance.

Here’s the trailer for Salim Akil’s feature film debut, Jumping the Broom, the romantic comedy which stars Paula Patton and Laz Alonso whose families from opposite sides of the tracks get together one weekend in Martha’s Vineyard for their wedding. The cast includes Angela Bassett, Loretta Devine, Tasha Smith, Mike Epps, Meagan Good, Pooch Hall and more. Jumping the Broom hits theaters May 6 — Mother’s Day.
Tia Mowry was spotted leaving PIX11 Morning News to promote the new season of BET’s “The Game” on Tuesday in New York City. The 32 year-old actress announced that she is expecting her first child with her husband of two years, actor Cory Hardrict, 31 later in the day.
Word is the pregnancy will be documented by the Style Network for a show to air later this year.
“We are both so excited to be parents,” the couple tell Us Magazine in a statement. “We have been wanting this a long time!”

After three seasons and being canceled on the The CW, The Game is back with their anticipated fourth season! On Monday night (January 10), the BET comedy-drama television series hosted an exclusive reception/premiere of its first episode at the Tribeca Grand Hotel. The entire cast (excluding Brittany Daniel who plays Kelly Pitts) was in attendance as well as the executive producer and creator, Mara Brock Akil and BET CEO, Mrs. Debra Lee.
Concreteloop had the opportunity to view the first episode which will be airing tonight. Let’s just say that the new season will feature many twists and turns, sexy and edgy, yet comical moments. There will also be many new faces added to the show, two of which will be played by actress Meagan Good and 106th & Park host, Terrence J.
