After news broke about Seal and Heidi Klum‘s decision to divorce, the “Kiss From A Rose” singer dropped by the Ellen Degeneres Show and opened up about the reality of their decision to split after 6 years of marriage. The 48-year-old singer also shared what he has learned and why he hasn’t taken off his wedding band:

Yes, I am still wearing my ring. I think that is pretty much a token of how I feel about this woman. We have 8 years – 8 wonderful years together. And Just because we have decided to separate doesn’t necessarily mean that you take off your ring and you’re no longer connected to that person. We will be connected in many ways for the rest of our lives, through our children and also through this tremendous kind of admiration and respect and love that we have for each other. Now whether we’d wear the ring for the rest of our lives, who know. But right now it feels really comfortable on my hand, so I’m not going to take it off any time soon.
