It has been a little over two months since Sean Kingston’s near-fatal jet ski accident in the southern waters of Florida. On Tuesday evening, the 21 year-old singer sat down with MTV News’ Sway Calloway and revealed that he had to have two open heart surgeries and other surgeries shortly after being released from the hospital:
On having open heart surgery:
“Theywere gonna send me home, but then I had felt a pain in my left chest, and I told my mom. They rushed me and they did a lot of scans on me, [and] they said I couldn’t leave. A lot of people don’t know it was a deeper situation. I had open heart surgery and I had two other surgeries; it was real crazy. It was a life-or-death situation.”
On what the accident taught him:
“What the accident basically taught me is, in life, you have to count your blessings. You just got to keep God present at all times and think about the consequences.” [Source]
Aside from having a renewed faith and feeling good about life, Kingston is also aiming to release a new single by the end of the year. Peep a snippet of the interview below. Glad he’s doing well.
