The people over at VH1 have announced their plan to produce a scripted biopic film based on the career & lives of popular “Waterfalls” girl group, TLC. Kate Lanier, who has written scrips for hit films like “What’s Love Got To Do With It,” “Beauty Shop,” and “Set It Off,” will be lending her penning skills to the project. Of course it would only be right that former group members, Chilli and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins will serve as executive poducers of the movie.

It has been over 16 years since we all heard the urban rhythm of “Chasing Waterfalls”. Before the glam and the glitz of the music business, former TLC member, Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins struggled with sickle cell anemia, a chronic illness and an incurable blood disorder that leaves people exhausted and in constant pain. After being told at the tender age of 7 that she wouldn’t live pass the age of 30 or be able to have children, Watkins never accepted it as her reality.
Nearly 5 years ago, T-Boz began experiencing frequent headaches and discovered that she had a non-cancerous brain tumor. Due to her sickle cell anemia, her doctor made it clear that surgery would be too dangerous and radiation would affect her career & quality of life.
With a strong step out on faith, Watkins found a surgeon to successfully remove her tumor, proving her relentless ability to defeat all odds. As the 9 seasons before it, American Idol’s’ 10th season wrapped up with star-studded performances prior to the announcement of the next American Idol. T-Boz and Chilli of TLC reunited and performed their 90s hit singles, “Waterfalls” and “No Scrubs” alongside the rejected female American Idol contestants…Lil Jon also made a mini appearance at the beginning of their set, hyping up the crowd as he usually does…
Beyonce performed as well with the women of American Idol. She came out after the ladies performed her singles, “Get Me Bodied” and “Irreplaceable” and then hit the stage with “Crazy in Love”. She also performed her new single, “1+1″ for the first time on live television.
