‘ROUND THE WAY: JANET HUBERT (AUNT VIV) GOES IN ON WENDY WILLIAMS ABOUT WHITNEY

Looks like Janet Hubert aka Aunt Viv has found a new victim to cut to pieces. Move over Will Smith because Ms. Hubert has got a word or two for talk show host Wendy Williams. After watching Wendy’s emotional commentary on the death of Whitney Houston, the former Fresh Prince actress decided to write an open letter to Wendy, calling her out for her past treatment of Whitney Houston and celebrities alike (during her radio days). Check out what Janet had to say…and man did she have a mouthful…

Dear Wendy,

This past weekend was a very difficult time for so many of us.

Though I never knew Whitney Houston, I felt a profound sense of loss and sadness. On Sunday morning I took my dog for a walk in the park across the street and still could not shake the sadness I felt. I wondered if what I was feeling was perhaps related to losing my mother and brother this past year, but then I thought no, it was something else. Continue

TV BIT: WENDY WILLIAMS BREAKS DOWN TALKING ABOUT WHITNEY + 2003 RADIO INTERVIEW

On today’s Hot Topics segment, television host Wendy Williams addressed the stories surrounding the shocking passing of legendary singer Whitney Houston. The former radio personality reminisced on her first experience being around the pop music queen over 25 years ago while attending Northeastern University. Although Wendy never met Whitney, she emotionally admited that she felt very close to the singer, especially because they shared the same experience of dealing with the demon of substance abuse:

It’s been almost 15 years since I smoked last from a crack pipe. It’s been almost 15 years since I waited on Jerome Avenue in the Bronx for my drugs. I’m not proud of the girl that I was but without being that girl, I wouldnt be the woman that I am today…There’s one thing through out it all, my connection with Whitney, is that I wished for us to be really sober and really aware. And I knew I’d meet her one day. But I always pictured that time to be in our late 50s or 60s, with her being the #1 spokesperson for Say No!. I just for some reason thought that that was what she would do. It’s what I want to do. I just thought that we would meet, and we would hug and we’d be sober and older…My heart goes out to Bobbi Kris, her daughter, who’s 18. My heart goes out to her mother, Cissy. My heart goes out to her cousin Dionne Warwick and her aunt Aretha Franklin.

Wendy went on to stress the importance of reaching out to family or friends who are battling substance abuse. You can watch the heartfelt clip below as well as Wendy’s interview w/ Whitney back in 2003. Continue

I dont need alcohol to get me out of depression or get me out of a bad moment. I have occasion drinks with my friends. I think you can do whatever you want. TV BIT: QUEEN LATIFAH TALKS MOTHERHOOD ON ‘WENDY’

Single Ladies‘s Queen Latifah paid a visit to The Wendy Williams show on Wednesday morning (January 18). In light of all the rumored Baby Blue Ivy rumors, the daytime talk show host asked the actress if she can see herself having and raising her own children one day. Latifah joked about how she’s been practicing and then responded with:

Honestly, if God willing, it will work out however it’s supposed to work out. And that’s the plan, you know? It’s kind of funny. You know you talk ‘[Hot] Topics’ all the time…Sometimes we forget, ‘Hey, ten fingers. Ten toes. Good pregnancy. Good birth. Everything worked out. Mama’s healthy. Baby’s healthy. You know, sometimes we get caught up in the fan fare of it all. The reality is the baby’s healthy. Mom is healthy…

After Queen basically beat around the bush, Wendy asked her, “So do you want to be a mother or not, Queen?” The actress jokingly yelled, “I am a mother! I’ve been paying for people for 18 years!…No, I’d love to be a mom. But how that works out exactly, I cannot say. It’s in God’s hands.” Peep the clip.
